Social Impact Director, Insurance, London, UK
Job description
Our client is looking for a Social Impact Director based in London, reporting to the Global Head of Sustainability, to be responsible for the social sustainability and community investment programs across the organisation, including integration of social sustainability and human rights topics into the business and operations, and overseeing the employee engagement and philanthropy programs.
Responsibilities
- Social Sustainability: Implement social sustainability initiatives and community investment programs across the global organisation.
- Human Rights: Integrate human rights considerations into the business and operational strategies, promoting ethical and responsible practices at all levels.
- Employee Engagement & Philanthropy: Oversee the employee engagement and philanthropy programs, fostering a culture of active participation and generosity.
- Climate Change & Society: Focus on the intersection of climate change and society, including considerations of a fair and just transition, and explore societal-led climate solutions that offer both social and environmental benefits.
- Sustainability Reporting & Governance: Oversee the sustainability reporting and enhance the governance practices to ensure transparency, accountability, and adherence to industry standards.
Qualifications
- Degree in Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or related field. An advanced degree or certification in Sustainability or CSR would be an advantage.
- Extensive experience in social sustainability, CSR, and community investment, preferably in a leadership role.
- Deep understanding of human rights issues and their integration into business operations.
- Experience with sustainability reporting and governance practices.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work with multiple departments and interact with external bodies such as charities and community organisations.
