Job description
We are currently seeking a highly skilled Smart City Energy Efficiency Manager on behalf of a leading company in the building sector based in Qatar. As the Smart City Energy Efficiency Manager, you will be pivotal in driving energy efficiency initiatives within smart city projects. You will be responsible for developing and implementing energy efficiency strategies, optimising energy consumption, and fostering sustainability practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of energy efficiency strategies and programs within smart city projects in Qatar's building sector.
- Conduct energy audits and assessments to identify energy-saving opportunities, prioritise areas for improvement, and develop action plans.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to integrate energy-efficient technologies and design principles into smart city projects.
- Monitor and analyse energy consumption data, identify trends, and provide recommendations for optimising energy usage and reducing carbon footprint.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in energy efficiency and smart building solutions, and incorporate innovative ideas into project designs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government authorities, project owners, and investors, to ensure compliance with energy efficiency regulations and standards.
- Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness and build capacity on energy efficiency practices among project teams and stakeholders.
- Prepare reports and presentations on energy efficiency performance, highlighting achievements, cost savings, and environmental impact.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Energy Management, Sustainability, or a related field. Master's degree is desirable.
- Proven experience in energy management, energy efficiency, or sustainability roles within the building sector, preferably with exposure to smart city projects.
- Deep understanding of energy efficiency principles, building systems, and energy performance standards.
- Familiarity with smart city concepts, including IoT (Internet of Things), building automation systems, and data analytics for energy optimisation.
- Experience in conducting energy audits, analysing energy consumption data, and developing energy efficiency action plans.
- Strong knowledge of local energy efficiency regulations, codes, and certifications.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, proficient in energy modelling and simulation software.
- Effective communication skills to engage with stakeholders, present complex information, and influence decision-making.
- Proactive and self-motivated, passionate about sustainability and driving positive environmental impact.
