Job description
We are currently seeking on behalf of our client a talented Net-Zero Project Manager for a consulting position in the building sector, based in London. Our client is a reputable consultancy firm dedicated to driving sustainable practices and tackling climate change within the built environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage net-zero carbon projects: Oversee the successful delivery of projects focused on achieving net-zero carbon targets in the building sector. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, and sustainability experts, to develop and implement comprehensive strategies to reduce carbon emissions throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide expert guidance on sustainability practices: Advise clients on sustainable design, energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and low-carbon technologies. Assess and recommend innovative solutions to optimise building performance, reduce environmental impacts, and meet net-zero carbon goals.
- Conduct project feasibility assessments: Evaluate the viability of net-zero carbon projects, considering factors such as energy modelling, carbon reduction potential, cost implications, and regulatory compliance. Develop robust business cases and provide strategic recommendations to clients based on the findings.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: Engage with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to align sustainability objectives, ensure effective communication, and drive consensus on net-zero carbon strategies. Foster strong relationships and maintain regular project updates to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Stay up to date with industry trends: Keep abreast of evolving sustainability standards, building codes, and best practices in the built environment sector. Continuously expand knowledge of emerging technologies, policies, and financing mechanisms related to net-zero carbon buildings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Sustainability. A master's degree would be an advantage.
- Proven experience in project management within the building sector, particularly in delivering sustainability and net-zero carbon projects.
- Strong knowledge of green building principles, energy efficiency measures, renewable energy technologies, and carbon reduction strategies.
- Familiarity with sustainability frameworks, such as LEED, BREEAM, or WELL, and their application in building projects.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously, manage stakeholders, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to identify innovative solutions to complex sustainability challenges.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
- Professional certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP), LEED AP, or BREEAM Assessor would be highly desirable.
