As the ESG and Climate Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's ESG and sustainability initiatives. As the ESG and Climate Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our organization's ESG and sustainability initiatives. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and execute a comprehensive ESG strategy that aligns with our business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Additionally, you will lead efforts to address climate-related risks and opportunities, positioning the firm as a responsible leader in the fight against climate change.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a robust ESG strategy that enhances sustainability performance and aligns with global best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into the business operations, products, and services.
- Monitor and assess climate-related risks and opportunities, providing insights to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and industry associations, to stay abreast of evolving ESG trends and reporting requirements.
- Lead the creation of transparent and accurate ESG disclosures and reports, ensuring compliance with relevant frameworks and standards.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives related to sustainability and climate awareness, fostering a culture of responsibility and action.
- Represent the organisation in relevant industry forums, conferences, and events, enhancing our thought leadership in the ESG and climate space.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing ESG strategies within the financial services or related industry.
- Strong understanding of climate-related risks and opportunities, as well as experience in climate risk assessment.
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks, such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, and CDP.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to engage with diverse audiences.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to translate ESG initiatives into tangible business value.
- Leadership experience in driving change and fostering a culture of sustainability.
