Job description
We have established a strategic partnership with a prestigious UK based bank. Together, we are embarking on a mission to find an exceptional Director of Sustainability, someone with a dynamic approach and a wealth of experience, to spearhead our client's sustainability initiatives and champion ethical business practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute and improve the company's sustainability strategy in alignment with global best practices and industry standards.
- Lead initiatives to integrate environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations into the organization's operations, investments, and decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and prioritize sustainability goals and objectives, and track progress towards achieving them.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, regulators, NGOs, and industry peers, to advance sustainability efforts and enhance the company's reputation.
- Oversee the implementation of sustainability reporting frameworks, ensuring accurate and transparent disclosure of ESG performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Management, Business, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in sustainability, corporate social responsibility (CSR), ESG, or related areas, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing sustainability strategies, initiatives, and programs.
- Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and drive change at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership and project management capabilities, including experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex initiatives.
