Business Developer Manager, Renewable Energy IPP, Dubai, UAE
Job description
We are partnering with a leading Independent Power Producer (IPP) in the energy sector. Our client specializes in developing and operating renewable energy projects across the Middle East region. We are currently seeking a talented and driven Business Developer to join their team based in Dubai and contribute to their growth and success in the dynamic renewable energy market.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate business opportunities for renewable energy projects, with a focus on solar and wind power, in the Middle East market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including government entities, utilities, financial institutions, and local partners.
- Conduct market research and analysis to assess the feasibility and commercial viability of potential projects, considering regulatory frameworks, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Lead negotiations and secure project development agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), land leases, and other necessary permits and contracts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and legal departments, to drive project development from inception to financial close.
- Monitor market trends, policy developments, and incentive programs to identify new opportunities and stay ahead of market changes.
- Represent the company in industry events, conferences, and meetings to promote brand visibility and enhance the company's position as a leading IPP in the renewable energy sector.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as Business, Engineering, or Renewable Energy. Advanced degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in business development or project development within the renewable energy sector, preferably with a focus on solar and wind projects in the Middle East.
- Strong knowledge of the Middle East region's renewable energy market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and project development processes.
- Established network and relationships with key stakeholders in the energy sector, including government entities, utilities, and financial institutions.
- Exceptional negotiation and deal-closing skills, with a track record of successfully securing project development agreements and PPAs.
- Strong business acumen and financial analysis skills to assess project feasibility and profitability.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented mindset, with the ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English is required, and knowledge of Arabic or other languages spoken in the region is highly desirable.
